HK119 is the alter ego of Finnish multimedia artist Heidi Kilpeläinen, who lives and works in London, UK. HK119 is an alphanumeric identity code of a fictional character created out of science fiction references. The tongue in cheek character critiques mass consumerism and the theories of humanity’s relationship with capitalism, technology and celebrity culture, all delivered in an underlying humorous tone.
HK119 has published 3 albums on One Little Indian Records and has performed internationally in clubs, music venues, galleries and museums such as Tate Britain, Victoria & Albert Museum, ICA, Casa da Musica and Kiasma.
