Writing fresh comedy that engages the audience

Anna Brotkin is an emerging scriptwriting talent. In recent years, she has been writing sketches for a comedy show called Putous (“Comedy Combat”) and a political parody called Pelimies (“Player”) as well as episodes for the Jättekiva (“Idiomatic”) comedy series. In the autumn of 2018, Brotkin will act as the main script writer for Putous. Brotkin has written a comedy series that will be broadcasted by Yle next year.

Among other things, Brotkin will talk about how she sees her role as a scriptwriter in relation to the audience and how she approaches writing comedy. Other topics of the interview include the challenges and opportunities faced by a scriptwriter today.
