Akse Pettersson

Akse Pettersson is based in Helsinki and one of the most prominent Finnish directors of his generation. Among his best-known pieces are Witch Hunt, Everyday Horror, Titanic, Kaspar Hauser, and Eldorado.

Pettersson’s themes ranges from the depiction of cosmic loneliness to the border between reality and fiction. He creates bold performances that combine complex narratives and themes with strong visual imagery. His theatrical language is often ironic, where ”true” emotions are swiftly transformed into pure comedy, drowned with popular culture references. Currently he is also the Artistic Director of Teatteri Takomo.
